Finland is interested in Kazakhstan's oil and gas

Finland is interested in Kazakhstan's oil and gas, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Finland’s Minister of Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb as saying at the press-conference in Astana. "I came here with representatives of 55 Finnish companies. And, of course, the purpose of our visit is to boost our trade and economic relations. Our delegations includes representatives of 13 different sectors of the economy. We can discuss construction infrastructure, energy, environmentally-friendly technologies and healthcare. As for export from Kazakhstan, we are interested in hydrocarbons: oil and natural gas. We are also very interested in green economy and clean technologies," Stubb said. According to Stubb, Kazakhstan's share in Finnish export makes only 0.4 percent at present. And Finland would like to increase it to at least 1 percent. The current commodities turnover between the two countries stands at $800 million. "Kazakhstan is a promising market for us. This is the market of the future, because Kazakhstan's economy is one of the most dynamically growing economies in the world, along with China and Qatar. In the last decade your economy has almost doubled in size. You are working towards a green economy. You have a dynamic growth. So there are all required positive factors and elements. Besides, the reliable investment climate here is, of course, a key factor for Finnish companies," he added. By Aidana Ussupova
